Happy 40th Anniversary Mom & Dad

Congratulations Mom & Dad !!! Our gift to them was dinner at Reata, and a hotel room at The Omni in Downtown Fort Worth. Here are the decorations we placed in their room to surprise them, including their Wedding album and their original wedding cake topper (that I secretly located & stole from my parents' house.) I'm stealthy. ;)

These are the memories that I call to mind when my children are fighting with each other, testing their boundaries with all their might, and running around like banshees (and I have to fight the urge to run screaming from the house.) :)

Friend Swim

This summer has been the hottest in decades, so we have taken up residence in Nana & Granddad's pool.

This particular day, we invited our best friends to come cool off with us. Swimming always seems so much more fun with a big group! And, it gave us Mommas a chance to chat !!

While we were waiting for our spray-on sunscreen to dry, we played around with the camera a bit.

Dress Like a Cow Day

Dress like a cow day has now become a tradition for us. We don't miss it! Free Chick-fil-A for slapping a few stickers on your shirt? Yes, please.

Avery was excited to wear her Fancy Nancy dress, which just so happened to have cow print. It was serendipitous.

Reilly's running around & climbing was too much for his cow spots, they just couldn't hang on.

Okay, every parent thinks their kids are the cutest in the world... but these 2 are seriously adorable.

4th Of July

We love love love watching fireworks, so it was really great to be able to have a "front row seat" this year.










We were able to see them so clearly from Aunt Lana's front yard. So, Joey dragged her recliner outside to watch the fireworks in complete comfort.


Avery liked that idea and climbed up in the chair with Daddy. She wasn't too crazy about the noise, and was a little frightened. But Daddy's presence made it all okay.

We even set up a card table & chairs outside so we could eat dinner al fresco. :)

I was a bit concerned when the guys revealed their plans to set off their own fireworks in Lana's driveway. There is a reason this looks like trouble.

Reilly's favorite one was this tank. It was tiny, but packed a lot of firepower.

Reilly was into the sparklers, but Avery wanted no part in it.

This is one of our favorite holidays! Maybe next year Avery will be a bit more adventurous.
