Christmas Morning was PERFECT!! Though, Joey & I stayed up way too late getting ready for Santa. It was fun watching both kids run to their gifts this year- Avery was only 5 weeks old last Christmas! We enjoy watching them SO much! They LOVED their special gifts from Santa. Reilly has been talking about a BatCave for MONTHS, so his expression when he saw that was priceless. Being able to make your child's dreams come true is such a profound thing, no matter how big or small. And Avery knew just what to do with her new kitchen, and she's never even played with one before! It was a wonderful morning, and I have a feeling that Reilly will remember it forever!! Especially since his last gift was us telling him about our upcoming stay at Great Wolf Lodge!! :) Enjoy the pics!

Christmas Eve
This Christmas Eve was completely magical! I just don't think you can beat a White Christmas! It was a first for all of us actually, and the first one for Texas since 1926! We so enjoyed watching all that snow blanket everything, and tried to get the kids out in it, but Reilly hated that cold wind blowing in his eyes, and Avery just cried. So, we decided to make some cookies for Santa. And for a new twist, we decided to try our luck with cookie cutters this year! (Which I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I've never used before!) Reilly & Daddy were in charge of the rolling pin and flour, so we had a White KITCHEN as well!
After the cookies, it was on to Nana & Granddad's House! We had the traditional feast of Fajitas, Guacamole, and Peanut Butter cookies. Followed by the reading of The Christmas Story, and the first gifts of the season! It was fun!

Avery is 13 Months Old

We actually meant to do this closer to her 1st Birthday, but better late than never! I wanted Avery to have a special birthday picture tradition, like Reilly does every year on his birthday- while wearing one of Joey's white button-down shirts. (Here is the pic from Reilly's 1st Bday, for those who are new to The Reagan Report.)

So, we put my favorite dress on Avery for a few pictures, and will do so on every birthday... just to see how much she's grown. :) ENJOY!

Not sure why standing in that grass upset her so much...

Daddy to the rescue...

Do you see how she is grabbing onto his shirt?! That just gets me!!!

And here's one of my handsome husband, the amazing father of my children- just because I'm so glad he's ours.
Extreme Skinny-Dipping

Not quite sure where he got the idea, but Reilly told us that he could totally handle the icy cold water in Nana & Granddad's pool. So, he threw in a couple of dive sticks, threw off his pants and then stepped in up to his ankles to retrieve them. After having no trouble with that, he got a little cocky. He decided that he was definitely tough enough to handle that frigid water, so he stripped down and DOVE in. And THEN... I'd never seen anyone move faster. He streaked up and out of that water in a flash. I took some video, but since he was skinny-dippin' I won't post it. Such a shame. Oh well... here are the pics though!

This confirms my theory that boys are a completely different species. I have to admit though, that I haven't laughed that hard in a while. :)

Toddler?
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
Malt-O-Meal

Reilly had his very first experience with a family favorite... Malt-O-Meal!! My Momma used to make it for me on cold mornings, from the time I was a toddler and all the way through high school. I thought I should continue the tradition with my sweet babies. Avery LOVES it, and Reilly liked the first few bites, but then changed his mind completely. I suppose there just wasn't enough sugar... and I'm not quite sure if I want to remedy that. I don't want to create a monster.

20 Degrees

I have to admit, I LOVE when it gets cold around here!! I love bundling up the kids in all their winter gear. So fun!

Reilly helped me put on Avery's hat & mittens...

Yes, I'll enjoy this for a whole 36 hours or so- until our crazy Texas weather pulls a fast one on me, and it turns 70 degrees again.
