Hair & Other Stuff

I have been meaning to post these pics for a couple of months, this is Avery before the serious curl occurred.

Though I love this look on her, I think I favor the curls a little more. It sets her apart, and gives her a uniqueness. I used to feel animosity toward my own curls, because I felt different (when all I wanted was to have "normal" hair like everyone else) and also sadly doomed to the have same look for all eternity. Then, I grew up, and discovered the CHI flat iron, and now I actually feel fortunate to have such versatile hair. :) I will share these and many other of my discoveries with Avery as she grows, and hope she will realize how beautiful she is, curls or not. It is so important to me to make sure that my daughter doesn't confuse true beauty and grace with what's portrayed in magazines or on t.v. Because let's face it... that is a scary thought.

"But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. " 1 Peter 3:4

Avery is 17 Months Old

Our precious 24 pound girl is 17 Months old, and I've nicknamed her "Tropical Storm" Avery. It's like she has more than 2 hands, because she can leave a path of destruction just as large as a classroom full of toddlers could.

But still, sweet as sugar.

My favorite new word of hers this month is "umbrella". Which comes out as "luh luh bah". She still has to have her special blanket to suck on while she sleeps, and now even loves to carry it around with her.

She thinks her kitchen is the best toy ever, and she takes great care of her baby dolls... and loves to push them in their stroller and give them baths.

And I just can't stop taking pictures of her !!!!

She speaks frequently on the "hand phone" to Pa Pa and Mimi.

She still can't get enough books...

For her, there is no one more fun than her big brother...

I just love to smell her hair after she's been standing outside in the sun.... her hair actually smells like sunshine. One of the very best smells in the world.

What a precious gift you are, Avery Adison. We adore you, and every mess you make !!!

Easter Pics

Eggstravaganza

We had a good time at the Eggstravaganza given by our church, even though a few of the pictures beg to differ. ;) Generally, my children cooperate when I bring out the camera, but on this particular day- not so much. It was Avery's first egg hunt and she did great! She's not too big on standing in grass, so that part was a challenge. She stepped ever so gingerly, with Daddy by her side, and retrieved just a few precious eggs. Reilly on the other hand, plotted and schemed before it was his turn... and was totally focused on his prize, so he came back with dozens! He loved the games, and of course the candy! Mimi and Grandpa never miss the Eggstravaganza, it was wonderful having them there! It was a great day!

Mini-Me.... (Just for you, Mimi !!!!)

Here is a picture I took of Avery last week...

And here is a picture of me from, ummmm, a few years ago. ;)

In Bloom

Our backyard peach tree blossoms, so happy Spring is here!

Snap Happy

I just can't leave my poor children alone. I hope all the camera flashes don't damage their eyeballs. Well, here's my blue-eyed girl and my green-eyed boy.

His Smile

Any bad day I might be having just disappears in as much time as it takes for Reilly to do this...
