Avery's 1st Day of Preschool

Avery's 1st day of preschool hit me like a ton of bricks. Reilly never went to preschool or Mother's Day Out, or anything besides Sunday School for that matter, so this was a huge transition for me. I knew we enrolled her in the right place, with precious teachers who love Jesus and lovingly provide a Bible-based curriculum. It was still hard to hand her over to someone else all day twice a week!! I cried like a fool after dropping her off for the first 2 weeks. Avery, on the other hand, hardly gave us a second thought. She was so excited and had the best time. She even calls it "princess charm school".

We took so many pictures... in an effort to capture all her tiny 2-year-old cuteness, before she tries to get all big like her brother!

Checkin' out what's in the bag...

Who doesn't love seeing their name on their sippy cup?

And it works just fine! ( By the way... those curls!!! Stop it !!! Too precious. )
" I'm TWO !! "

A mother cannot be expected to tame her own unruly curls on a day like this, so please just ignore them as best you can.
"Let's GO!"

Mommy's holding it together okay... for now.

a place of her very own...

It makes it a little easier to walk away knowing that she's happy as can be... and that there's Play-Doh. Score.

we know she'll have an awesome year!!

Reilly's 1st Day of 2nd Grade

Here are the pics from the first day of school. Reilly's new "big" backpack that we ordered was a bit late, so he had to use his tiny 1st Grade backpack for the first few days of school. (Oh the horror.) He looks so HUGE with that tiny thing!

And we couldn't forget his favorite lunch (complete with a note from Mommy)

This big smile was only there until he remembered that he doesn't get to dictate his own schedule when he goes to school. :/

Luckily, we got him to go in anyway. :)

Here's hoping our strong-willed and extremely opinionated little man has a wonderful 2nd Grade year!!!

Back to School Party

The family got together the day before school started to say some prayers for Reilly, and encourage him for his upcoming school year. It is such a blessing to have a family that is so supportive of everything our children do. I really can't say thank you enough.

We celebrated with a school bus cake, just like last year.

Uncle Mike gave him his very own hockey stick!

Turns out, school buses are yummy.

Avery is demonstrating the proper way to eat it.

We are so proud of our smart little guy!! We know he'll do his very best, and have a very blessed 2nd Grade year!!

Nana's Birthday Dance Party

This year for her birthday, Nana decided to have a "dance party" to break in her new hardwood floors. It was a lot of fun to see everyone cut loose and have such a great time on the "dance floor"!

Avery set the bar really high for the rest of us when she performed her beautiful ballet.

Daddy's girl. This melts my heart. A lot.

Love dancing with my baby girl.

Nana & Granddad danced the night away...

Then Reilly decided to stop playing with toys and join the party.

Of course I saved a dance for the cutest guy there...

Happy Birthday to you, Nana !!!
