Eclipse


My gals and I made a date to see a triple feature of the Twilight films on the opening night of Eclipse. I had a serious need to see this new film as soon as it was physically possible.



Yes, I purchased my very own Team Edward shirt. And am proud of it.



It brought to life one of my most favorite books ever, and if you don't get the appeal- perhaps I should explain to you the female psyche.



And my husband, being quite the expert on this female's psyche, came along as well. It was a great night, and Eclipse was exceedingly delicious. If you haven't seen it, you should crawl out from under your rock and get to the theater immediately. Only 16 months till Breaking Dawn!

I am capable of comprehending why children have to grow up, but a little less so about the speed in which they do it. This extremely intelligent, funny, helpful, handsome, adventurous, independent, eloquent little boy cannot possibly be the 6 pound 3 ounce bundle that I carried for nine months and brought into the world on June 28, 2004. But yet, he is. And we have been honored and blessed to have witnessed every moment.






Here are some of the things that we love most about our 6 year old Reilly Bear:


I have never seen a child (or adult for that matter), who absolutely delights in helping others. It is his mission to help everyone he knows, so much so that he gets frustrated when they won't let him! And honestly, I couldn't do this "Mommy of 2 children" thing without his help. He is the extra pair of hands that have come to my rescue more times than I can count.



He is his own man. In the mornings lately, he has taken the initiative to make up his bed without being asked, and even prepares his own breakfast.... just to make us proud. And boy, are we!


My favorite thing this year- by far- has been listening to Reilly read signs as we're driving along in the car. Things like "Wireless Toys" and "hop in for savings that sparkle" are music to this Momma's ears.

He laughs in his sleep.

And he still literally dreams of being a super-hero. It captures his imagination like nothing else.



He has an astounding vocabulary, and his use of proper grammar just thrills me.




Of course, per tradition, we video-recorded his yearly "Interview." Here are a few of our favorite answers...

What would you like to be when you grow up? "A Race Car Driver... or car washer. Or Toy Maker... or a sprinkler maker."


What is your favorite food? "Donuts, waffles, and pancakes."


What is your favorite movie? "Godzilla, I think."


What is your favorite restaurant? "Huck-a-Donald's or Ol South"


***yes, he knows it is really "McDonald's", but now we all call it Huck-a-Donald's.... it's more fun!


What kind of car do you want in 10 years when you turn 16? "A blue Corvette with red stripes."


How high can you count? "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.... ugh. that is as high as I can count without swallowing my saliva."


*** really, he can count much much higher than 100. And actually, can count by 2's, 5's and 10's way higher than 100 as well!


What is your favorite thing that God made? "Mommy, Daddy, & Avery."

Reilly's 6th Birthday Party


Reilly's chosen theme this year was Iron Man, well Batman was also considered... but let's face it- Batman IS awesome, but he can't break the sound barrier. Advantage Iron Man.

Reilly Bear always gets SO excited for his party... the guests, the decorations, and of course all those beautifully packaged gifts!

The first of which was one we couldn't have had the party without!







Oh YEAH!

We actually didn't get any pictures of the "after-party" which was at the water park, but I don't think we'll need any for Reilly to remember it forever!

Grandpa's New Bike



It's been quite a while since Grandpa had a bike, so we were all super excited when he got a new one!!!




Yeah, I know. I've got the coolest Dad ever. It's okay to be jealous. ;)

Happy Daddy's Day !!!


This is admittedly quite late, but here's how we celebrated the Daddy in our house for Father's Day.


Some gifts for the hardest-working, most gentle, understanding, unselfish, patient, wise, and loving Daddy in the whole wide world.

Daddy's playing indoor soccer again, so he needed some new gear!


He had some very eager helpers!






They completely ADORE him !!

Poor Daddy, he didn't have them for long. If there are shoes anywhere in her vicinity, Avery is going to be wearing them.



Then Reilly took Daddy to see Toy Story 3 !!! (They are matchy-matchy and that is stinkin' adorable.)



Our Daddy had a great day, and we hope all the Daddies in your life did too!
