Avery is 11 Months Old !!!

Hard to believe it is possible, but our sweet Avery is only 1 month away from her very 1st Birthday. These past 11 months have been so incredibly wonderful, we can't wait to see how she amazes us tomorrow!

Here are some of her milestones for the month:

* She weighs 22 pounds!

* She doesn't care too much for toys, she would be content to just walk around exploring ALL DAY LONG.

* According to her, a cup is the coolest thing ever invented.

* She points and babbles at everything.

* She can drink from a straw.

* She is walking so fast, that it's practically running!

* She can bend over and pick things up off the floor, and then stand back up.

* She says, "Ma Ma, Da Da, Bay Bee, Buh Buh, Mee Mee, and Pa Pa." (For Momma, Daddy, Baby, Bubba, Mimi, and Grandpa.)

* She is getting 2 teeth on the top! (That makes 4!)

* She gives unsolicited kisses.

* She steals our hearts on a daily basis!!!

***** These next 3 pictures were taken by Reilly Bear, he is totally crazy about our girl and she can't stop smiling at him!!! *****

Boyhood

**** Please select song #2 on the Playlist at the bottom of the page to go with this post! ****

As I was snuggling with Reilly the other night, I was struck by how special, and fleeting this time with him really is. I teared up when I thought that someday, he wouldn't want "snuggles" from Mommy. Someday, he would want to decorate his own room & would choose something much more grown-up than Airplane Sheets. Someday, he won't want to dress up in super-hero costumes with capes and wield swords... just because.

Someday, I won't find Hot Wheels under the covers of my bed, and in my shoes. Someday, he'll be too self-conscious to be blissfully unaware of having Oreo cookie face. Someday, he won't want to hold Mommy's hand and kiss his Daddy on the lips. Someday, he will groan and roll his eyes when I say "TICKLE FIGHT"! Someday, he will simply step over puddles instead of splashing in them. Someday, he won't want to have Mommy "pet" his back and sing him a song before he drifts off to sleep. Someday, his beloved stuffed animals SpiderMonkey and ReillyBear will be collecting dust in the top of his closet. Someday, the girl he's most concerned with in the world won't be his baby sister. Someday, cartoons will no longer be the funniest thing ever, and there will be no characters on his underwear.

Someday, will be here much sooner than I want it to... and as depressing as these thoughts can be, I am glad I have them. Because if I didn't, I wouldn't know to soak up every single silly second with these incredible blessings from God that I love so impossibly.

Casa Manana

Reilly and I went on a date to the Casa Manana Theatre to see the production of "The Jungle Book"!!

Reilly never took his eyes off the stage! He gasped at the scary Shere Khan, and laughed at silly Baloo the Bear- when he used the jungle trees to scratch his bulbous bear behind. He LOVED it!

When it was over, he danced to "Jungle Boogie".

We'll try to hit the next production, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" in December!

State Fair

We hit the State Fair on Saturday hoping to avoid the rain that was due on Sunday, but we weren't so lucky. Those with curly hair shrieked in terror as the clouds rolled in... (For those of you who don't know, curly hair seems to expand with moisture.) But not this curly-haired girl! Nope, I was safe under my Fair hat. Joey got it for me there a few years ago, and I was so glad to have it that day!

*** I admit it, my hair is only artificially straight... thanks CHI!***

It only sprinkled on us a few times, so it wasn't too bad... at least we weren't baking in the Texas heat!

We loved the Car Show, the Corn Dogs, Fried Cheesecake, Cotton Candy, and Roasted Corn! And of course, Reilly loved the rides!! We had a blast!

Ahhh... Until next year, jalapeno cheese corn dog. We'll miss you.
