East Texas Road Trip

We took a spur of the moment trip to East Texas with Joey, since he had to go to Marshall for work. Anyone who knows our love story knows that we met in college, while working at the Applebee's in Longview. After Joey was done with his work for the day, we visited my Alma Mater, East Texas Baptist University. It was so cool to show the kids where Mommy lived in the Dorm, attended classes, and ran around campus.

Then we drove the 30 minutes to Longview, where Joey attended LeTourneau University. We met up with one of Joey's college roommates/soccer teammates (Jeremy) and his family for dinner at the Applebee's where Joey and I first met and fell in love.

Here's the Employee of the Month plaque from 1997. Check out December. :) You're thoroughly impressed, I know. ;)

It's funny to think that this is the place I first laid eyes on this amazing man.

It was so peculiar to meld my sweetest memories of my past with the presence of my precious children, that ultimately came as a result of that time.

It was a very special day for me, and made me miss my sister terribly. Melissa worked with us there too, and it actually felt like she was near.

Jeremy and his family invited us over to their home to let the kids play together, to give the grown-ups a chance to catch up.

But, the Dads ended up playing soccer inside the house, and didn't really let the kids in on that too much. :)

I was surprised that Joey gave his consent for Avery to take a bath with their youngest boy, but that was pretty cute.

The bigger boys had a great time being dragged around by Jeremy.

It is always SO nice when our kids play together, they get along so well. Must be good parenting. ;)

Reilly took this picture when we were headed home late that night.

Super fun day!!! Till next time, Longview !!!
